Yiwu Hosie Crafts Co., Ltd. is a paper product source manufacturer based in Yiwu, Zhejiang, producing custom paper bags for retail brands, gift companies, chain supermarkets, stationery brands and creative enterprises. As a Custom Paper Bag manufacturer, we build shopping bags, gift bags, retail bags and promotional paper packaging from your artwork, existing sample or reference image, with bag style, size, paper, printing and finishing confirmed before production begins.
Heidelberg presses and fully automated post-press lines keep printing, bag making, finishing and inspection in one production flow, which supports consistent output across large batches. We hold ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification and operate to amfori-BSCI and Disney Supplier Code of Conduct requirements, supplying retail chains and brands across Asia, the Americas and Europe.
Our Custom Paper Bag Range
Two structural families cover most retail and gift packaging briefs, produced as OEM or ODM projects. Multiple designs can be run inside one order for different product lines, seasons or promotions, with each design quoted on its own quantity and specification.
Horizontal paper bags
Horizontal paper bags open along the wide face, giving a low, broad presentation that suits apparel, footwear, boxed gift sets and multi-item retail packs. We develop them from existing specifications, artwork, reference samples or a new packaging concept, covering structure, branding, printing, finishing and packing.
Because the opening is wide and shallow, contents sit side by side rather than stacked. Side gusset and bottom size are set from the packed product dimensions, and handle attachment is reinforced for the load the bag carries in store.
Vertical paper bags
Vertical paper bags use the portrait silhouette familiar in branded retail, gift and event packaging. They are designed for clothing, footwear, stationery, cosmetics and gifts, with dimensions, paper, handles, printing and finishing customised to the packaging requirement.
Holiday and event themes such as Christmas, Valentine's Day, Halloween, birthdays and weddings are produced in the same family, and coordinated designs can be run for different collections while keeping a consistent brand look.

Application Fit Across Retail, Gift and Promotional Programmes
A paper bag carries the brand after the sale, so the specification follows the sales channel rather than one standard size. The same structure is produced in different sizes, papers and finishes for different channels within a single programme.
- Retail and boutique: small to medium vertical bags for jewellery, cosmetics, accessories and single-item purchases, with laminated or foil-stamped surfaces for a premium feel.
- Fashion and footwear: horizontal and vertical bags sized to the box or folded garment, with reinforced handles and gusset bottoms for heavier contents.
- Gift and celebration: ribbon, rope and lace-bow handle styles for wedding, birthday, Mother's Day and holiday gifting.
- Chain retail and supermarket: repeatable specifications across stores, with SKU labelling and carton marking for distribution.
- Promotional and corporate: branded bags for events, giveaways and campaign kits, produced in coordinated designs.
Materials, Paper Weight and Load-Bearing
Kraft paper, art paper, coated paper and specialty papers are the base stocks we work with, and the choice follows print coverage, strength and the look the brand wants. Natural kraft suits a matte, uncoated appearance; coated and art papers hold dense offset or screen printing with sharper detail.
Paper weight is not fixed in advance. It is confirmed from the bag type, the finished size and the load the bag must carry, together with the handle type and bottom structure. A deeper gusset, a heavier bottom board or a reinforced handle patch changes how the bag behaves in use, so these decisions are made together rather than one at a time.
- Flat bottom for light, flat contents and clean shelf presentation.
- Gusset bottom for boxed, heavier or multi-item contents.
- Side gusset depth set from the packed product, not from a stock mould.
- Larger, thicker or specially structured bags developed where a standard size does not fit the product or packing method.
Printing, Surface Finishing and Branding
Printing runs in CMYK or Pantone using offset or screen printing according to artwork and order volume. Offset printing handles fine detail and photographic artwork; screen printing gives solid, durable coverage on bold logos and works well on kraft surfaces.
Finishing options include matte lamination, gloss lamination, foil stamping, embossing and debossing. Different paper and process combinations produce different packaging effects, so the finish is confirmed against the artwork and the intended retail environment before sampling.
- Logo, brand text and full artwork applied to the bag body.
- Private label projects with labels, barcode and SKU information.
- Artwork review covering dimensions, bleed, colour mode, resolution, die-cut requirements and printing feasibility.
Handles, Bottom Structures and Structural Development
Handle selection affects both appearance and load rating. We produce paper rope, cotton rope, PP rope, ribbon and flat handles, and confirm the attachment method with the bag size and content weight.
- Paper rope and cotton rope for natural, retail-friendly presentation.
- PP rope and ribbon for gift, celebration and promotional ranges.
- Flat handles for a clean, minimal retail look.
- Reinforced attachment points where the bag carries heavier or boxed contents.
Where a standard bag does not match the product, we develop larger, thicker or specially structured paper bags so the style, load-bearing capacity and appearance match the actual usage.
OEM/ODM Development and Sampling Path
OEM projects start from your design file, artwork or confirmed specifications. ODM projects start from a product concept, reference images or basic requirements, and we assist with structure, material selection, the customisation plan, sampling and production development.
- Customer artwork production
- Existing product customisation
- New product development
- Structure optimisation
- Prototype development
- Sample production
- Pre-production approval
- Mass production
Samples are available before bulk production depending on the project: digital sample, prototype, physical sample, pre-production sample, existing product sample, or a custom sample built from your artwork or reference. Bulk production follows the confirmed specifications or the approved sample.
Quality Control and Acceptance
Inspection runs through the whole order rather than only at the end: incoming material inspection, printing inspection, in-process inspection, finishing inspection, final product inspection, packing inspection and pre-shipment inspection. Approval covers size, structure, colour, material, printing, finishing, accessories and packaging.
- Material checked against the confirmed paper and weight.
- Printing checked for colour, registration and artwork accuracy.
- Structure and dimensions checked against the approved sample.
- Handle attachment and bottom strength checked on assembled bags.
- Quantity, packing and carton marking checked before shipment.

Packaging, Documentation and Delivery Scope
Packing is set to the retail, warehousing and shipping requirement: individual polybag, OPP bag, paper sleeve, individual gift box, retail packaging, custom labels, barcode or SKU labels, bulk packing, inner cartons and export cartons with custom carton markings. Once product and packing specifications are confirmed, carton details such as units per carton, carton dimensions, net weight, gross weight and CBM can be provided for shipping arrangements.
Trade terms are agreed per project — EXW, FOB, CIF, DAP or others — according to destination, order quantity and shipping requirements, and are confirmed in the quotation and sales contract.
Complementary Paper Products
Projects that need more than bags can be supplied together. Notebooks, journals, gift boxes, wrapping paper and greeting cards are produced in the same facility, so a retail programme can be packed and shipped as one order. Requirements for all products can be provided together and assessed as a single supply and packing arrangement.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you produce custom paper bags from an existing sample or reference image?
Yes. Provide the existing sample, reference image or product information and we assess bag structure, size, material, printing and packaging requirements, then develop the product from the confirmed specifications.
What information do you need to quote a paper bag project?
Product type, reference images or sample, artwork or logo, bag width × height × gusset, content weight, estimated quantity, handle and finish preferences, packaging requirements, target market and required delivery date. Where artwork is not finalised, a sketch or concept is enough to start structure confirmation.
Can several designs or SKUs be produced in one order?
Yes. Multiple designs can be manufactured for different brands, product lines, seasons or promotions within the same order. Quotation and production requirements are confirmed per design based on quantity and specification.
Do you support private label and retail-ready packing?
Yes. Private label projects cover logo, artwork, bag design, labels, barcode and SKU information, with individual, retail or carton packing confirmed against your warehousing and shipping requirements.
How are repeat orders handled?
Repeat orders follow the previously confirmed artwork, materials, specifications and packaging information, keeping the specification consistent for the same product line, with final details confirmed on the current order.
Can paper bags be developed for a specific target market?
Yes. Structure, artwork, packaging method and labelling requirements are confirmed according to the target market and sales channel, for retail, wholesale, promotional and seasonal packaging.
